Welcome to the 2026 Taranaki Fringe Garden Festival, where passionate gardeners open their gates to share gardens that inspire, delight, and surprise.
From Friday 30 October to Sunday 8 November 2026, visitors can explore 45 unique gardens and Places of Interest across the beautiful Taranaki region.
Now in its 22nd year, the Festival celebrates authentic gardens created by real people—gardens full of personality, creativity, and heart.
What makes this Festival so special is its diversity. Wander through everything from charming cottage gardens and compact urban sanctuaries to expansive rural landscapes with lakes, bridges, and breathtaking spring colour. Every garden tells a story and offers fresh inspiration, whether you’re a seasoned gardener or simply love beautiful outdoor spaces.
As Festival Organiser Anne Clough warmly shares:
“The passion and enthusiasm our gardeners bring, combined with the beautiful creativity in their gardens, is what truly makes this festival shine.”
At just $2 entry per garden, the Festival remains wonderfully affordable and flexible. Choose your own itinerary, travel at your own pace, and enjoy genuine conversations with the gardeners themselves—often the most memorable part of the experience.
We are thrilled to welcome eight new gardens and two returning gardens, whose owners have spent time transforming and enhancing their gardens with beautiful new features. Beyond the gardens, discover artisan displays, heritage attractions, local creativity, and unique Taranaki hospitality.
