Election day is on Saturday, November 7 – are you ready?
Have you read up on party policies? Have you weighed up thoughts on what is best for NZ, your district, community and yourself?
It’s easy to lose sight of the real issues amongst all the political palaver and forget the real questions regarding our future. So, be sure of where you want your vote to go.
Firstly, are you enrolled? Have you moved and need to update your address? These must be done by Sunday, October 25. Voting opens the following day – Monday, October 26 – 12 days before election day.
Be aware – no one can enrol once voting has opened. If you are not enrolled by October 25, you will not be able to vote in Election 2026
Check your details:
Take time to check your enrolment details – postal address, email address and mobile number. Are they correct? You can enrol, check details, or update information at www.vote.nz
Prospective voters can also call 0800 36 76 56 to request an enrolment form. Alternatively, text your name and address to 3676; a form will be posted to you.
Watch for your EasyVote card:
This year, the Electoral Commission will send election information (including an EasyVote card and information about electorate candidates) by email or post.
If the Commission has only a postal address, or you are on the unpublished roll, the EasyVote card will arrive by post. Information on voting locations and party lists will be available from www.vote.nz
No EasyVote card? You can still vote. An EasyVote card helps electoral staff find your details quickly, but you don’t need it to vote provided you are enrolled by the deadline.
