It was good news for SuperGold Card owners when Carolyn Bates from Rangitikei GP attended a NZ First public meeting in Bulls.

“Mark Patterson, NZ First MP, addressed the meeting on a variety of matters among which he confirmed the party was working on improvements to the present SuperGold Card,” Carolyn says.
“This announcement was followed by the advice that the AA can now add photo ID to SuperGold Cards free of charge.”
Already offering free discounts and concessions, the card is available to New Zealand residents aged 65 years and over and to those under 65 years receiving New Zealand Superannuation or Veteran’s Pension.
Now, with photo ID available on the card via the AA, it can be used as supporting identification in conjunction with other approved primary identification.
Simply visit your nearest AA Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agent with your card, along with three forms of identification which verify your name and date of birth, and address. One of the documents must be at least two years old. Your photo will be taken and a new card posted to you free of charge.
The AA has a nationwide network of driver licensing agents with Digital Counter Capability across the country.
The organisation decided to participate in the SuperGold initiative to ensure the New Zealand public [including seniors] had easy access to a free photograph service.
