The months of June and July brought much sadness with the passing of three well-known Grey Power members who had given so much of themselves to Grey Power.

Jo Millar, Board member for some years and most recently national secretary (see obituary page 5); Dean Chandler-Mills, president of Upper Hutt, and Tom O’Connor, ex-national president, all passed recently.
Unfortunately, with our members growing older we will face many more losses. When we lose someone dear to us, we need reminding to make the best of every day we have on earth and to cherish it.
Small things, such as seeing a bird have a water bath or enjoying sunshine on our faces lets us know that we are still alive and kicking and that there is much to appreciate in life.
We may have aches and pains, hearing loss, memory loss, or diminishing eyesight, but we can still enjoy time with our families and friends.
While we may miss people who have died, we still have wonderful memories of when they were here. We can recall good times, share stories about them and be grateful that we had them in our lives.
My thoughts are with the families and friends of Jo, Dean, Tom and those of other members who may have passed without me knowing.
Take care, all, Gayle.
