A BIRD’S EYE VIEW?

CHIT CHAT

The new year is well underway and as Grey Power Federation continues to advocate on behalf of NZ seniors, addressing many issues where shortcomings are felt, we should also make time to laugh. So, when GP member, Vickie Fraser touched base with me I was delighted with her tale:

My friend [sadly deceased now] was very short sighted but we used to complement each other’s eye sight as mine was as long sighted as hers was short.

Anyway, one quite breezy day while we were out walking, my friend suddenly expressed a look of distress as she pointed way up to a palm tree and said, “we need to try get help for it”.

I asked, “help what?”.

Her response, “that seagull caught in the branches of that palm tree; it’s flapping madly and can’t get free.”

However, all I could see was a white plastic supermarket bag caught on a branch!

Yes, I did see the funny side and so did she once I told her what the ‘seagull’ really was, much to her relief.
